Not sure how many of you remember my niece who was responsible for the $1 Taylor Hall Young Gun rc? Here's the post if you'd like the backstory.
Well, my niece was at it again last night (in addition to my nephew).
It had been a while since the three of us went out and did something. Lately, it's been either just my niece or just my nephew or the whole family. For the three of us to head out - it was a lot of fun.
They can get along with each other, tolerate one another, but only in small doses. It reminds me of my sister and I when we were their age. I hope they have the kind of relationship I have with my sister when they grow up.
Anyways, back to the story.
After a trip to the mall for some chow and a little shopping, my nephew asked if we could go to Toys 'R Us (he wanted to see a couple things there). I knew he would ask that and was prepared to go. I had a $25 gift certificate from a while back and was looking for a reason to spend it.
A perfect occasion if you ask me.
He found a couple things, my niece found a couple things and I found a pack of OPC hockey cards (to max out the card).
My niece asked if she could open it in the car. "Absolutely!", I remember the last time she ripped packs.
Here are the goods.
You know these base cards are just the start of the goodness. She liked the design by the way. Good eye.
Well, what do we have here? Pretty much the trump card in the retro set I think. It's card #600 in a 600-card set. I think it's pretty important.
But wait...there's more.

How often have you had this happen in one of your packs.
Not one....
...but two Gretzky cards - IN THE SAME PACK!
Sure, it's not a Taylor Hall rookie or anything, but you couldn't really ask for a better pack of cards.
Again, she's on lottery ticket duty.
son of a...... I've said it before and I'll say it again. without being creepy I need to borrow your neice for a bit.
ReplyDeleteThat was fully creepy, but I get where you're going...
DeleteMan that's some sweet sweet luck right there!
