ANOTHER LINDEN TO CHASE

This upcoming hockey card season brings with it a new chase for my Linden collection (and quite the card at that), but the ITG Ultimate Memorabilia Game Used Emblem is not the only new card Trev has.

Panini, coming into the hockey card mix for the first time, gets their season going on October 20 with an interesting release for more reasons than one.

Score hockey will be a throwback release with base cards having a design that is reminiscent to the 1990/91 arrival to the sportscard scene.

That's not the only throwback aspect of their product. A seven card pack will have a SRP of just .99 cents. Now that's a way to get some people chatting about your product.

With a 500 card base set, there will be plenty of cards to chase in this 20th Anniversary set. But for me, it is the inserts that have my mouth watering.

I had heard rumblings that there would be a Linden autograph card included in the mix. I thought about how exciting it would be to see a new card of Trevor, maybe in his old school Canucks uniform.

Confirmation of this signature card came recently and it had me sitting on the fence. Judge for yourself.

2010/11 Panini
Score Trevor Linden buyback autograph

For those of you not in the know, this is the Linden card from that 90/91 set. Panini is going the buyback route for their autographs.

I was kind of hoping for something original, but something is better than nothing.

These buyback cards are looking to be inserted one per case. 7 cards per pack, 36 packs per box, 20 boxes per case.

One buyback auto per case.

I can only imagine how much the first few Linden's will go for on ebay. They tend to fly pretty high in price. If I could find out how many Linden autos were being released in total, it would make my decision as to when to strike a lot easier.

The nice thing is that the cards will have some sort of marking on the back to indicate that it is indeed a buyback and not some guy getting a Linden auto on a 90/91 card. They will also apparently be numbered.....which would be nice.

Other buyback autos in the release include Brett Hull, Mike Modano, Keith Primeau, Pat LaFontaine, Denis Savard, Dale Hawerchuk, Bryan Trottier and Patrick Roy. There are rumblings that a Martin Brodeur buyback will also be included (which would be cool since the Score card is his only RC).

Should be a fun card to go after. Should be a fun product to break as well.
